Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industry is celebrating its 50 golden years as it was established in January, 1964 in the backdrop of Industrial growth of Odisha. Initially it was conceived with the limited objective of protecting and promoting the business interest of industries and trading houses of Odisha. In the 50 years of its existence its reach has broadened to empower and enrich the cause of industrial and commercial enterprises of the state through participation with the government and other associations in formulating policies and taking care of the industries as well as the state on the whole. The chamber reflects the views, perceptions and interest of its constituents in a proactive and constructive manner, within its own community as well as with the government and various other agencies. It is well respected for its balanced and steady approach to matters pertaining to development of trade and industry, promotion of government-industry inter-linkages and for pursuing sensible economic policies. The Chamber's membership of about 450 companies most of the large and medium sized companies as well as Small, Tiny Industries, Hotels, Trading Houses, Software companies and eminent professionals, having a presence in the state. Some of the regional chamber of Commerce and Industry Associations of Odisha are affiliated as members of UCCI. UCCI is affiliated to the National Associations like FICCI and ASSOCHAM. 

The Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industry-UCCI  has exemplified the 50 golden years for the growth in trade, commerce and industry. Moving together and joining hands with its members, Govt. and Corporate organizations, national and international forums, intellectuals, media and general public UCCI recites the mantra —"Odisha Moves Forward "the relentless journey continues in its pursuit of excellence.
