Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industry Limited (UCCIL) and KISS Deemed to be University joined hands with Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) to celebrate World Standards Day 2022, Sunday morning, 16th October. This culminated into an impressive and massive walkathon stretching over 5 kilometres with all their team members and above 250 students participating in the awareness rally for Quality and Standards.
Dr. Dipak Behera, Vice Chancellor, KISS graced as Chief Guest with Sri Ashok Kumar Sharda, the Honourary Secretary of UCCIL & Mr. Jagannath Majhi, Director BIS joined him in the flag off of rally. inaugurating the rally at morning 7, said that awareness of Quality of Life and maintenance of Standards in life begins at home and every child and every student grows up with these values from the beginning of their rearing. Then it becomes the responsibility of the schools, colleges and the universities to carry forward this Standard in life to fulfill every individual's dream and to nurture their potential.
Professor Deepak Kumar Behera, Vice Chancellor of KISS flagged of the walkathon that started at KISS campus and came round through Bhubaneswar's Patia square. The white Ts a caps with BIS logo and hallmark worn by everybody in this walkathon made the campaign to standout with awe and inspiration.
The Director of Bhubaneswar unit of BIS Sri Jagannath Majhi also took the whole marathon on foot along with the grand entouge and rally. These organizers had made arrangements for drinking water, chocolates, and tiffin that were distributed at several points on the path.
