Dr. Madan Mohan Sethi, IFS, Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam who is in town currently, visited Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industry Limited (UCCIL), Bhubaneswar. He was meeting and addressing the members and other guests of UCCIL, especially exporters of Odisha today afternoon, on 01st August 2022 (Monday) at 4.30 PM. Present on the dais, along with the Chief Guest were Sri. A. K. Sharda, President-in-charge, UCCIL, Sri Binod Dash, VP (Industry), Sri Deepak Rathor, VP (General), Sri Akshay Khandelwal, Hon. Jt. Sec and Sri Narayan Kumar, Hon. Jt. Treasurer, UCCIL.
Shri Binod Dash did the welcome address and reiterated the mission and vision of the UCCIL that the chamber will continue to be the catalyst and that they can have direct coordination with, and act as the bridge between industry leaders, exporters, importers and Consul Generals for ease of doing business.
Shri Ashok Kumar Sharda presided over the meeting and introduced Dr. Madan Mohan Sethi, saying his meteoric rise culminating as Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam today is backed by a vast experience in organizational skills and in discharging challenging positions. Shri Sharda requested for a high-level delegation exchange as well as a conference to be arranged in Ho Chi Minh City to promote our MSME sector successfully to establish their brand name. Dr. Sethi reassured to extend all support and assistance through his good offices. Being a proud Odia, he kept his faith that the coordination work should be taken up by the UCCIL for the State’s industrial advance.
Dr. Sethi encouraged increasing business between Odisha and Vietnam and promised all support. He encouraged interaction with the attendees from the beginning. He informed the audience the meteoric rise of the economy of Vietnam in the last 10 years and the shifting of the manufacturing base of most of the industry from China to Vietnam due to highly skilled manpower, disciplined work force and proactive Vietnam Government’s encouragement to the investors. Possibility of mineral sector, pharma, electronic, Bamboo products are the potential area of trade ties between both the countries and with Odisha state.
The Board of Directors of UCCIL felicitated the Consul General Dr. Sethi. Other organisations and leaders like Mr. Sumeet Mohanty and Abhijeet of SAFE Risk Insurance Broker, Mr. Kamalakanta Sahoo of FIEO and Mr. Durga Prasad of AIC-Nalanda also felicitated the honourable guest.
At the end of the session Sri Akshay Khandelwal, the Honorary Joint Secretary of the Chamber, gave the vote of thanks and said a few words of emotion, poetry and nature while appreciating Dr. Sethi’s personality trait.
