The Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industry Limited (UCCIL), the apex body of Industry, Trade, Commerce & Services located at Jaydev Vihar, Bhubaneswar has initiated the Covid Care initiative as a part of its moral responsibility towards the society.
A Mega Vaccination Camp was organised for 2 days 14th & 15th June at UCCIL premises where in totality 1138 persons got vaccinated said Mr. Brahma Mishra, President, UCCIL. He thanked Sri. Sanjay Singh, IAS, BMC Commissioner for accepting the proposal of UCCIL to vaccinate its members, employees and family members. He praised the efforts of BMC co-ordinator and its staff for administering the COVAXIN dose very efficiently. Nearly 1067 persons above 18 years and 70 persons above 45 years were vaccinated in two days special drive. Proper social distancing with mask was insisted and orderly vaccination was conducted with UCCIL volunteers and staffs.
Vaccination Camp was ably supervised by Sri. Prasant Satapathy, Sri. Manoj Prusty and supported by Sri Ashok Sharda, Vice President, UCCIL & Sri Akhaya Khandelwal, Joint Secretary.
It is worth mentioning that UCCIL has started various programme for the covid effected persons since may. Notable amongst such initiative was supply of around 7000 meals at the door step of the patients till now and the food delivery is still continuing. UCCIL also undertook Oxygen Cylinder supply at the door step with help of Sikh Aid. Oxygen concentrator is being provided to needy persons. Earlier N-95 Masks were distributed to Newspaper and Media Field functionaries including hawkers.
