Mr. Manfred Auster, German Consul General in Kolkata who was in town, met and addressed members and few distinguished guests of Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industry Limited (UCCIL), Bhubaneswar on Wednesday, in Hotel Swosti Premium.

Present on the dais, along with the Chief Guest Mr. Auster were Sri. Brahma Mishra, President, UCCIL, Sri Bhupendra Singh Poonia, IAS, MD, IDCO, IPICOL, Sri Upendra N Behera, (IAS, Retd), Honorary Member, UCCIL.

Sri. Brahma Mishra, President, UCCIL did the welcome address and reiterated the mission and vision of the UCCIL that the chamber will continue to be the catalyst and that they can have direct coordination with, and act as the bridge between industry leaders, exporters, importers and Consul Generals for ease of doing business.

Shri Brahma Mishra introduced Mr. Manfred Auster, German Consul General, highlighting his vast experience in organizational skills and in discharging challenging positions of business in Government.

Mr. Auster, exchanging views on matters of mutual Indo-German interest reassured to extend all support and assistance through his good offices. He kept his faith that the coordination work of the German Government’s business promotion facilities should be taken up through Indo-German forum for the State’s industrial advance.

The Board of Directors of UCCIL felicitated the German Consul General and lauded on his august presence among the members of UCCIL and sharing his views on wide ranging topics from climate change, to technology transfer, to exchange of students for higher studies, industrial delegation visits etc.

At the end of the session Sri Ashok Kumar Sharda, Vice President (Commerce) gave the vote of thanks.
